Benefit Eligibility Verification

This is a time consuming and expensive process for providers and payers alike. The process is slow…patient records photo copied, 800 numbers called to determine eligibility status. Busy signals, long waits, and manual transcription of data all lead to a less than effective use of a provider’s office staff. The payers administrative burden is equally cumbersome, since phones must be staffed to provide the information as calls are received.

The MedCard POS terminal enables the payers office to access this information via a swipe card or a data entry procedure. In as little as 20 seconds a printout of the information is produced. This can be attached to the patient's chart, providing current information about the patients co-pay responsibilities.
