Purchasing Cards support three different levels of
transaction data capture. UPC supports all three levels.
Level
1 Data
- Transactions
are processed just like consumer credit cards
transactions. This enables Purchasing Cards to be used
at all credit card accepting merchants locations
worldwide.
Level
2 Data
- The
terminal or PC software captures additional
transaction data, such as sales tax amount, your
customer’s accounting codes and other information
used by your customers to track expenses.
Level
3 Data
- At
this level, detailed information such as product
codes, duty amounts, quantities, etc. can be captured
to provide comprehensive line item detail reporting to
your customers. Due to the amount of information to be
handled during the transaction, specialized PC
software must be used.
- Data
is formatted and transmitted electronically by your
processor to interface directly with your corporate
customer’s purchasing, general ledger and accounting
systems.
- It
is this superior data capture and reporting capability
that makes Purchasing Cards unique - and the reason
why it is in such demand among your corporate and
governmental agency customers.
- This
level will also qualify your business to take
advantage of interchange levels specifically priced
lower for these types of transactions.
